"School Mitkovic" |

"School Mitkovic" has been founded in 1996 for education in surgical skill and management of "Mitkovic" external and internal fixators and other devices and implants. It comprises of basic and advance courses. Report from one of basic courses: Intensive Course (7 hours per day, during 3 days). Twenty Orthopaedic surgeons, ten medical sisters from operating rooms and ten veterinarian are ordinary participants in one course. After morning lectures and discussions, in the afternoon (after lunch), the exercises are organized - operations on bone models including: Application of the Mitkovic external or internal fixation systems for solving different fractures on the tibia, on the femur, on the forearm, on the pelvis, for bone lengthening, for correction of angular deformities, for sliding bone graft and application of Mitkovic's hand external fixator for solving metacarpal and phalangeal fractures, hand bones lengthening and correction of angular deformities of these bones. In the parallel course, ten operating room staff medical sisters are educated for preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative dealing with external and internal fixators including cleaning, sterilization and maintenance of the devices. During the exercises , each team is consisted of: two orthopaedic surgeons (or veterinarian) and one sister. All course participants enjoy nice spring, autumn or winter environment of Serbia with flowers, green forest, hot water springs, fresh air and evening restaurants.
