Correction of different kind of deformities including congenital deformities, deformities after fractures, Rheumatoid arthritis osteoarthritis etc.

Varus, valgus and other angular deformities is corrected using the most simple method in the world. Bone is cut only 50% of its circumference. Mitkovic CDV external fixator is applied intraoperatively, but it is possible to correct the direction of correction until 2 weeks postoperatively (after re-estimating patient after he starts to stand and walk) without any additional surgery nor anesthesia. Gradual correction of deformity starts one week postoperatively and is completed within 2-3 weeks. Because bone is not cut completely, it is allowed to patient to walk the day postoperatively, with nearly full weight bearing (until feeling the pain). Duration of crutches using is 4-6 weeks postoperatively. During gradual correction it is performed opening of cutting area and banding of remaining uncut half of the bone. Devices removal is performed in out patient clinic (no need any anesthesia) average 2-3 months after the operation. Using of this the simplest and the safest method it is also possible to correct complex deformities or to achieve simultaneous correction of deformities and lengthening. Instead external device, it is also possible to use internal device (completely implantable).
